Dozens of San Diegans marched under the scalding heat in El Cajon on Saturday to show support for immigrants in the community.

The march started in a Manolo Farmers Market parking lot and ended at El Cajon City Hall, where participants listened to guest speakers and watched Baile Folklórico performances.

In February, El Cajon City Council approved a resolution that emphasized it is not a sanctuary for immigrants and that it would cooperate with federal immigration officers as much as California law allows. State law limits local police interactions with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement officers.

Organizations including Latinos en Accion and Fuerza Hispana de El Cajon, CA have been pushing back.
