Newsletter: Tell us about your experience with Black maternal and infant health
Plus, conditions at California ICE detention centers are worsening.
We’re hosting a community listening session on Black maternal and infant health to hear directly from Black birthing parents, families, caregivers, birth workers and community members across San Diego County at The Block Club from 1-3 p.m. on June 6.
The conversation will help inform our ongoing reporting project exploring experiences, resources and systems connected to maternal and infant health in the region. The event is free to attend, and we encourage community members to register ahead of time to reserve a spot.
This project and listening session are being produced with support from the University of Southern California Center for Health Journalism 2026 California Health Equity Fellowship. Please email me at lauren@daylightsandiego.org if you have any questions ahead of the listening session, and we look forward to seeing you there!
